How to Survive End Stage Capitalism

A playlist of original music by Michael Boezi that invites progressive, collectivist, and non-confrontational reflections to undo the years of programming and propaganda we all endure. Hyper-individualism is our common enemy; positive change is a collective effort. Our mass awakening cannot be stopped.

It’s not you, it’s capitalism. Climate change, systemic racism, economic inequality, and other issues plague our culture. Media controls and distorts our emotions as well as our response. Our best ideas are diminished into binary choices, made subservient to simplistic narratives. Only a human, empathetic expression might change someone’s perspective.

Overarching themes:

  • How to create the conditions for change and fight for our own survival.
  • Opting out of capitalism’s grip and leaving behind past versions of ourselves.
  • How to take care of one another and be patient with each others’ unlearning.
  • Staying human as technology takes over and confronting our own mortality.

Some of the Boston area’s best musicians are collaborators on this series: Acclaimed Americana artist Bob Bradshaw (co-writer on Blind Spot and One Sunday in Autumn), Andrew Stern (Mark Erelli Band, Dennis Brennan Band) on lead guitar, Dave Brophy (Will Dailey, Alisa Amador) on drums, and many others.

Here’s the album versions of most of these songs:

“My pick for this week is the just released ‘No Love Songs Volume 2.’ Singer/songwriter/guitarist Michael Boezi and a bunch of fine musicians bring us a great collection of songs about the unfortunate state of the world.

Despite the subject matter, which is presented through great lyrics and excellent instrumentation, the album is not depressing, because it’s a perfect example of how art is essential in hard times, of how we can work through chaos by using our creativity.” — Aaron Smith (source: BlueSky)

“You are making a major contribution with your music. Very impressive. Thank you for sharing ❤️” —Audrey Addison Williams, Healing Soul of America, Inc.
