I put down my guitar for a few minutes to put on a fundraiser with my compatriots at Boston For All, an activist group that runs a series of community events to raise money for organizations who are doing amazing on-the-ground work.
Art For All is, in my opinion, our best event. Local artists offer their work in a unique art sale that lets you decide how much you’ll pay for original works. And whatever you decide to pay, 100% of the money goes directly to La Colaborativa, a Chelsea-based organization helping Latinx immigrants in all of the Boston area.
In 2019, we raised over $12,000 at Art For All 2 (also at Aeronaut), 100% of which went directly to BIJAN to help some of our most vulnerable neighbors detained in immigration prison.
About the event:
La Colaborativa empowers Latinx immigrants to enhance the social and economic health of our community and our people; and to hold institutional decision makers accountable to the community. They are based in Chelsea, but do work and provide resources in many of the surrounding neighborhoods in Boston as well.
To learn more about their mission and impact:
I’m a board member and volunteer at Boston For All, an activist group that runs a series of community events to raise money for immigration justice. We function as a pass-through organization, and 100% of all donations go straight to the nonprofit organizations we support. I serve on the board, create and manage our digital presence, and volunteer at the live events.
Our events are free and open to all. Donations are never required, but offer the opportunity to help in supporting the important work of some great organizations.
