Boston For All: Our First Virtual Event

As many of you know, I’m a board member and volunteer at a small organization called Boston For All. We put on events to raise money for local causes, usually around immigration issues. Of course, the coronavirus crisis put a kink in our efforts – we’ve obviously had to cancel a bunch of upcoming events that were scheduled for this spring and summer.

Undeterred, we took to the Web, conducting our first virtual event on Thursday, April 2 (via Zoom). The event featured 10-minute stories from great local tale-spinners. The event’s theme was: “An Unexpected Kindness.” There were also lessons on making cocktails from the good folks at Tres Gatos. I played some instrumentals live at the beginning and during the intermission.

The event was in support of The Greg Hill Foundation’s Restaurant Strong Fund to provide financial relief to local restaurant workers who have suddenly lost their income. We raised $3,275 at this event from our generous friends, neighbors, and supporters.

There’s still time to make a donation if you are able, on our GoFundMe Page. You can watch the replay here:
