Selected Highlights from 2014

Testing the assumptions of my new business in a 4-part video series, in the hopes that you can learn from my experience.

As we approach the end of 2014, I thought I’d close out the year by highlighting some recent articles for you. I sent a version of this summary to my mailing list last week—please subscribe if you want to get my e-mail updates!

All I can say is that I’m really thankful for the year I’ve had. If you’re a regular reader, you know that I started my own business at the beginning of 2014. I had no idea what to expect going into it. One year later, I feel lucky. I work with a bunch of great clients, helping each of them build and execute their content strategy. And, finishing up my 10-part series, Content Strategy for Entrepreneurs:

But, by far, my most popular post for the entire year was:

I was honored to have it featured on the Text and Academic Authors Association’s blog as a part of “The most useful textbook & academic writing posts of the week: November 14, 2014.” See the mention here: http://bit.ly/TAA-111314.

Looking forward

I’m working on the following pieces to show authors, writers, and bloggers how to think differently about attracting readers. In today’s environment, it’s about creating relationships—not promoting. It takes real time and effort, but it works. Stay tuned for the following:

Thank you for reading my work, encouraging me, and challenging me when I need it. I’m grateful to all of the new connections I’ve made this year, as well as all the long-timers who have made a difference to me and my career. If I can ever be of service to you, please reach out.
