This group was fantastic. They had amazing ideas and classroom discussions were animated. But most of all, I liked that they were supportive of one another. In my view of marketing (and business in general), this spirit of generosity and the desire to help will serve them well in their future careers.
One of my students was recognized for her work in this course – Emily Neiss won a faculty award, and received a scholarship from Bookbuilders of Boston. Her project (listed below) is focused on helping aspiring authors survive the “slush pile.” She has first-hand experience in this area, reading and assessing “cold” submissions, so she was in a great position to help.
Here’s a list of everyone’s projects, so you can see their work for yourself:
- Emily Neiss / Diamond In the Slush: Insights into literary agents
- Jessica Weber / Gesso Art Guides: Learn the basics of painting from a painter
- Chantal Lozano / Uni Remedies: Safe and natural home remedies
- Nicholas Moore / Militant Millennial: “Building possibility beyond despair”
- Sarah Bryer / Brunoise: The Home Cook’s Mecca
- Brittany Greenway / Maché Madness: Paper Maché the Fun Way
- Shivangi Ramachandran / Holy Cow (Podcast): Decoding Indian mythologies
- Yaisha Liz Cordero Rivera / French Tout de Suite: Learn French the easy way
- Katherine Hogan / Pretty Average Weasel: Advice for millenials
