We could mark the very moment that we stopped laughing at the laugh track.
Last week I released a new single, “Silicon in My Soul.” That makes four in total so far this year, one per month. I doubt I can keep up this pace: It’s expensive, it’s a ton of work, not to mention a lot of people/project management. But I am driven to keep at it because I see this as a mission. Not to get all high-minded or self-important, but awareness is the first step towards change. Capitalism compels us to keep marching on in the face of deep societal issues. I want to challenge that with moments of reflection, 3 minutes at a time.
I can’t change anyone’s mind. All I can do is observe and report. And then create something that is relatable in return. Something that gets someone to see an issue in a new light. That’s the sum total of what I can do to help.
You have a different set of talents. Your approach will be different. But one thing you can do to help:
- If (and only if) you find these songs to be meaningful, share them so they can do their work.
- If you don’t see much value in them, don’t. I would never ask in that case.
Here’s what I have so far. You can also look these up in any streaming platforms Spotify, Pandora, Apple, Amazon, or Bandcamp.
1. LEAVING
2. WIRED
3. DISCONSOLATE EYES
4. SILICON IN MY SOUL
Thanks for participating. It may be a small act, but what else is there but small acts?
All the best,
Michael
