Enrollment is now open for my first online workshop, entitled “Grow Your Business with Content Marketing.” This is a new 3-day course designed to help small business owners develop an online presence and start finding and connecting with customers.

We’ll roll our sleeves up and get to work on developing a marketing plan for your own business, whatever your business may be. I work with a variety of clients in my consulting practice—from tech startups to brick and mortar businesses. Independent entrepreneurs and small companies. Non-fiction authors and other thought leaders. The thing they all have in common is that they are using content to connect with customers and grow their respective businesses.

Organic growth takes time, but if you do it right, the result is a deeper relationship with your best customers. All along the way, you will be building awareness of your business, building the trust of your potential customers, and moving people “down the funnel,” to use the marketing terminology.

This workshop will show you how to do that.

The great news is that anyone can learn it, but it’s the nuances that count. My goal is to cut through it and teach it to you efficiently in this “crash course.” I’ll let you in on my content marketing secrets, and what I hope is that you’ll come prepared to start applying what you learn immediately.

What’s in the course?

It will be conducted in three sessions over three days, each about 1-hour long:

Session One – Create a Plan

We’ll cover the basics of content marketing, so you can build a firm foundation for your strategy. The three key elements are your website, your blog, and social media. The session will be aimed at all levels, so don’t worry if you are not off the ground yet. And for those of you who are set up already, we’ll talk about optimizing so that you’re focusing ONLY on the stuff that matters.

Session Two – Develop Your Content

As I always say, good content is the oxygen of content strategy. We’ll look at the concept of “story” and how to apply it to your business. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a writer. Content comes in a variety of forms, and we’ll want to pick the ones that are right for you and your audience. We’ll cover how to craft your content so that it solves a real customer issue and provides value to them to position you, ultimately, to ask for the sale.

Session Three – Build Your Audience

Now it’s time to put your content into action. There’s only one metric that matters: Was it compelling enough to share? Once you unlock this, the magic starts to happen. Your audience actually starts to create more audience for you—and guess what? They’ll be more credible and more effective at it than any direct marketing you can do. It’s called advocacy marketing, and it’s the Holy Grail of content marketing. I’ll show you how to work towards that.

Session Four – Live Q & A (Optional)

This hour-long live Q & A will give you the opportunity to get direct feedback on your content marketing plan. I’ll answer your specific content marketing questions live, so you can get started putting it into practice in your own business.

As a part of the course fee, I’ll include a workbook that will help you apply what you just learned and create a detailed content strategy, step-by-step. I’ll give you the tools that I actually use in my own business!
