The “Five Ws” of journalism serve as a helpful rubric in planning your content strategy. In this series, so far we’ve covered: identifying and connecting with your audience (who); the type of content you are producing (what); motivations for sharing your content (why); the timing and frequency (when), and the channels you employ to share your content (where).

There’s a lot of nuance to how you do each of these, and that’s what I’d like to talk about over the next few articles. In Chapter 10 of the Good Content Series, “How Do You Connect?,” I introduce the factors that can make a big difference to how your work is received:
